In 1960, the legitimate and democratic government led by Patrice Lumumba was overthrown. This bloody overthrow put an end to the democratization process in the nascent Congolese Republic. The Western powers having decided and ordered the end of this democratic process, have committed an imprescriptible crime against the Congolese people: since then, the children of this country have never had the possibility of living in a democracy nor of electing freely, in peace, the leaders of their choice.
