The purpose of this contribution is to analyze the philosophical, ideological-political and functional sources of traditional African aesthetics. In doing so, it provides proof that art proceeds from a coherent and relevant discourse on the Real and therefore on the Beautiful as inscribed in the Order and Harmony of the Universe, which is, moreover, unsurpassable. From this analysis emerges a theory of Beauty capable of enhancing the expression and modern aesthetic design in the grip of a crisis of foundations.
It is a question of bringing to the contemporary aesthetic adventure, materials for the analysis of the Value integrated into African aesthetic traditions, from Pharaonic antiquity to the present day. We have gone beyond the classic opposition between the rational and the irrational by integrating the political into the social, and the social into the religious, thereby reconciling man with his cosmic nature.
The theories of complexity find there a new space for deepening the social.
