From Africa to the Americas, wherever slavery and colonization were rife, negroes resisted. Here is presented a table of the main actors who, from the 16th to the 20th century, rose up against oppression, injustice and, therefore, embodied the idea that man can reach for heroism when he intends to safeguard or regain their freedom and dignity. Anna N'zinga, Samory Touré, Jean-Jacques Dessalines, Amilcar Cabral, Charlemagne Péralte, Toussaint Louverture valiantly fought in the name of these values.
