A communication tool par excellence, Lingala has not yet given the full measure of its vitality. He remains reclusive within the borders defined by the colonial administration. Compared to French, it remains the poor relation of the national budgets of the two states of the Congo. What makes him a minor competitor of French. However, due to its flexibility, vitality and musicality, it can quickly become an international language. This would require the creation of a supranational institution, a sort of Academy of Bantu languages whose mission would be, among other things, to promote this language. The interethnic language, Lingala, has and must have the destiny of a language of development. He has already succeeded in breaking down the barriers that separate the Mhochi, the Téké, and the Kongo. Today, the audience of Lingala has gone beyond its traditional borders circumscribed by Congo Brazzaville, Congo-Kinshasa and part of Angola. In the Ivory Coast as in Burkina Faso, in Gabon as in Mayotte, in the Comorian islands as in the French Antilles, Congolese music has acquired its letters of nobility. "Let's speak lingala" is a document which is not addressed only to the speakers, but also to the international scientific community, to the NGOs which work directly with the population, to university researchers as well as to all those who, for reasons various, seek to deepen their knowledge of Lingala.
