This book analyzes the life and work of Guyana historian and politician Walter Rodney (1942-1980), his years of training, his influences, his ideology, and his political action. While Rodney has been the subject of half a dozen monographs in English, this book is the first work in French devoted to this English-speaking historian. It is aimed as much at an academic audience working on African worlds as at an "militant" audience engaged in development issues and social struggles.
